Sacai Korea

Sacai Shinsegae Department Store (Main Branch) | Sales Assistant

I actively contributed to boosting merchandise sales by delivering exceptional in-store customer service while overseeing comprehensive inventory management. This encompassed a range of responsibilities, from maintaining inventory control to monitoring stock levels and efficiently managing returns and exchanges.

My focus on elevating sales performance involved engaging customers through personalized interactions, leveraging upselling techniques, and imparting extensive product knowledge to drive increased customer engagement. Additionally, strategic display placements were instrumental in fostering consumer interest and encouraging higher spending habits.

Sacai is a brand with a strong fan base rather than mass appeal. Its main customers are VICs and VIPs from department stores and brands. My service to these clients consistently generated an average of £4,000 - £5,000 in additional daily revenue. Situated within the Shinsegae Department Main Branch, the store predominantly catered to middle-aged female consumers aged 40-60+, who typically sought practical and timeless designs over trend-focused or intricate ones. They usually looked for practical and timeless designs rather than trendy and detailed designs, so I focused on inventory management for these products.

My experience at Sacai taught me the importance of communicating with the enthusiast consumer base, not only with promotional offers for them but also by giving them accessory items such as socks and scarves to increase their affection and loyalty to the brand.

Furthermore, I gained invaluable insights into the buying process. In the case of Sacai Korea, they predict the sales flow of their PRE and MAIN collections and buy products from their headquarters in Japan. This experience underscored the need to curate purchases aligned with the preferences of Korean consumers, considering factors like age and occupation.
